We are a participating site on the Artistic Vistas and Treasures Trail.
I love this Thundershirt, and so does my dog, Grace!
Phil Jones: Master Woodworker
(Deceased April 2010)
Phil is sadly, no longer with us. Fortunately, he left me with many details of his incredible work, and here, in his own words, is what he said:
"My gift is to form wood in ways few can. These works are my dream and make me feel good when I have the urge to create. It gives me great joy to create for others as well. Life makes sense when I follow this passion.
Each art work is assemled piece by piece and set aside for the glue to cure at each step. I design the work as I assemble it, by choosing woods that compliment each other in color and effect. Each work is brought to life from the center out."
These finishes are used for softness, long lasting beauty and durability.
Phil struggled with the cancer that took his life with a determination and valor that likely gave him more years than doctors predicted. He left instructions for me, that upon his death, the proceeds from sales of his work should be donated to the David Westfall Foundation, that supports the first ever memorial dedicated to the veterans of the Vietnam war, in the United States. Learn more about the memorial, here.
To honor Phil, and his wishes, I will also donate to bring the total to 50% of the sale value. For more details, inlcuding the sizes of the works, please contact us.
